As we continue to adapt system procedures and operations due to COVID-19, we want to ensure you are aware of the latest updates.
The FDA & the CDC have now officially approved the Moderna & Pfizer bivalent COVID vaccine boosters for those 12 and up. This booster is updated to contain 50% original strain and 50% Omicron BA.5/BA.4 strain. The CDC is recommending this for anyone 12 and up (Pfizer only for those 12-17 y/o).
While KH leaders support the evolving COVID vaccination program, including the receipt of boosters, boosters are not being required by KH.
Some experts recommend waiting longer depending on your own risk factors. If you have questions, consult with your healthcare provider.
Can I get my flu and COVID vaccine at the same time?
Yes, experts state that it is safe to be vaccinated against the flu and COVID at the same time. Please discuss any concerns with your healthcare provider.
Where can I get my COVID booster?
Retail pharmacies (CVS, Walgreens, Kroger) are taking appointments now.
What do I do with my COVID vaccine record?
Please forward your COVID booster record to ehprograms@ketteringhealth.org for recording by the Employee Health department.
