Patient Surprises Doctor Who Saved His Life

Read Time: 1 min

We want to send a big shout out to Mohammed Abdelaziz, MD, who is part of our Hospital Medicine team at Kettering Physician Network. Dr. Abdelaziz was surprised on February 27, as he was asked to meet with some folks from Marketing. Little did he know, he would soon be meeting a patient who credits Dr. Abdelaziz for saving his life in December 2017.

The patient had been transferred to Kettering Medical Center with what was believed to be symptoms of vertigo. According to the patient and his wife, “Dr. Abdelaziz met us in the Emergency Department and swiftly jumped into action, ordering an MRI and then implementing the stroke protocol. As it turns out, I was suffering from a cerebral stroke, and Dr. Abdelaziz literally saved my life. It took months, but I am now able to walk, talk, and hug my family and the doctor cared for me as if I were his very own relation!”

Well done, Dr. Abdelaziz! Thank you for living our values and making a difference in the lives you serve.
