Kettering Health Network is standardizing the requirements for COVID-19 testing prior to elective procedures for both inpatients and outpatients:
- A documented COVID-19 test must be resulted within 5 days of the procedure. The exception is for patients previously infected with COVID-19 within the last 90 days. Such patients do not need repeat testing before surgery or procedures if they are beyond their isolation period. Refer to recent communications regarding timing of elective procedures for patients with recent COVID-19.
- Home COVID-19 tests are not acceptable as proof of being uninfected.
