Ron Mainess

Read Time: 2 mins

Meet Ron Mainess, Enterprise Project Management Office director. Ron is an “Air Force brat” and a proud native of Southern California. Although he has never served in the armed forces like his father, he felt blessed to provide project management support to many United States military branches (Air Force, Army, Marine Corp, Navy, and Coast Guard) and many civilian government agencies like the Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Education, Internal Revenue Service, Department of Homeland Security, and Customs and Border Protection.

Ron began working at Kettering Health Network in September 2019 as the director of the Project Management Office. In his many years in corporate America, he had never worked for or even had the desire to work for a faith-based organization but says that he felt something special and unique about Kettering Health Network that created the desire to become a part of its team. He watched it grow from a distance for many years and sensed God’s Hand. “Wherever God is, that’s where I want to be,” shares Mainess. His goal is to continue to advance the IS Project Management Office into an enterprise project management strategic resource for the Network.

Mainess leaves us with this piece of advice, “In my short stent at Kettering Health Network, through my experience with the IS Senior Leadership Teams approach to team success, and through reading suggested books on leadership, my perspectives on achieving career success has changed. It’s so different from the dog-eat-dog approach that I have grown up to believe results in success. It’s very basic, yet so profound and aligns with the network culture. My career advice is to seek wisdom, build trust, and serve with humility. Only then will you achieve true success.” When Ron is not at work, he and his wife, Krista, continue to advance their non-profit organization, Helping Our Families Inc., which was established to help single-mother families in poverty move from “striving to thriving.” Their goal is to positively impact generational cycles of poverty.
