The 2018 Greater Dayton Heart Walk is coming this September, but it’s never too early to get involved and support the American Heart Association.
This year, Kettering Health Network is challenging each department throughout the network to participate and make a team. To do that, departments should pick a team captain—but what does that mean?
- Support the cause. As a team captain, you help support the American Heart Association in its mission to prevent heart disease. Team captains are passionate about the cause and encourage their team members and community to get involved and support Heart Walk.
- Keep your team informed. Team captains are a resource for their team members, serving as a liaison between American Heart Association and all participants. As a team captain, we need your help sharing information about the walk with your team, whether that’s when the walk starts or when we’re taking the Kettering Health Network group photo.
- Attend the Team Captain meeting. Team captains are also expected to attend a special meeting with representatives from the American Heart Association. This meeting sets you up for success, showing you what resources are available to you and your team and giving you information and important updates about the walk. This year’s team captain meeting will be held in mid-July.
