Southview Honors Organ Donors and Recipients

Huber Heights residents Lori and Neil Clark, spoke at the event, sharing the story of their son Ian Wesley Clark.

Southview Medical Center, along with Life Connection of Ohio, recognized Donate Life Month by hosting a flag raising event on April 15. Life Connection of Ohio is an independent, not-for-profit agency designated by the federal government as the Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) for Northwest and West Central Ohio.

Huber Heights residents Lori and Neil Clark, spoke at the event, sharing the story of their son Ian Wesley Clark. Following his death in 2002 at the age of 19, Ian shared the gift of life as an organ donor. Ian saved five lives through organ donation, healed 48 lives through tissue donation, and restored sight to two individuals who received his corneas.

According to Life Connection of Ohio, more than 120,000 people are waiting for life-saving organ transplants. After the ceremony, staff from Southview Medical Center and Life Connection joined Lori and Neil to raise a flag in celebration and praise.

Grandview also held a flag raising ceremony for Donate Life Month.
