Congratulations to Mabel McFarland, who was named Southview Medical Center’s March Employee of the Month! Mabel works in Maternity at the hospital.
The Employee of the Month Award recognizes the people you love to work with. These winners show exceptional performance as defined by the network’s Standards of Behavior, live out the network’s values, and demonstrate the healing presence practices outlined in Called to Care. Mabel was nominated by a patient, and you can read the nomination story below:
“Today my husband and I finally made it out to Southview to do a Maternity Unit tour (Mondays are pretty awful for us, and I’m 36 weeks today!). We had to bring our 3-year-old with us because there was no one to watch her, and we didn’t realize there was a rule stating no children under 14, due to the bad flu season, which is totally understandable, and we appreciate the need/concern. Although she had already clocked out for the day and was about to head home, she offered to show my husband around with a quick tour while I held our daughter by the entrance, so that way we could both see (he held her while I toured with the group). This was absolutely above and beyond the call of duty and it meant so much to us! Thank you, Mabel! You are exactly one of the reasons we love Kettering Health Network so much!”
