Southview’s March DAISY Winner: Beth Gorzny

Read Time: 1 min

Congratulations to Beth Gorzny from ICU, for being recognized as Southview Medical Center’s March DAISY Award!

The DAISY Award is given to nurses who demonstrate clinical skill and compassionate care. It was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who died of a disease attacking the immune system (DAISY). His family was awestruck by the care and compassion his nurses provided, so they established this award program. You can read Beth’s nomination story below:

“After I had a really bad night in ICU, Beth was there with her sweet smile and comforting way. She made me feel that she cared. She spent plenty of time with me and had me smiling and laughing in no time. When I found out that I had to leave ICU and go back to the main floor, she walked me over and was so supportive that I barely noticed how much pain I was in. Beth is a truly great nurse, not just because of her great medical skill, but also because of her wonderful people skills.”
