Steve Sassaman Named Kettering Behavioral’s January Employee of the Month

Read Time: 1 min

Congratulations to Steve Sassaman, who was named Kettering Behavioral Medicine Center’s January Employee of the Month. Steve works in Adult Psych.

The Employee of the Month Award recognizes the people you love to work with. These winners show exceptional performance as defined by the network’s Standards of Behavior, live out the network’s values, and demonstrate the healing presence practices outlined in Called to Care. Steve was nominated by a fellow employee, and you can read the nomination story below:

“Steve arrives to work early every shift to prepare for the evening to come. He is consistently going above and beyond for his team and for his patients. Steve has purchased clothing for patients who are homeless. He has read with them, prayed with them, and supported them during their crisis. Steve is extraordinary at de-escalating an agitated patient and often is the positive energy they need to calm themselves down. In short, his patients adore him, and it is evident when assignments go up on the board and patients say, ‘yes, he is the best!’ Not only does he take care of his patients, he also takes care of his night shift work family. He constantly checks in with us to see if he can help with anything. He cleans the units and even feeds us from time to time, and you know how hungry nurses get on night shift with no access to a cafeteria. For this and much more, we are all grateful.”
