Summer of Wellness: All About August

Read Time: 1 min

August’s Summer of Wellness challenge is all about nutritional wellness. We want to challenge you to make healthier choices this month to help increase your energy levels, prevent diseases, and improve your overall wellness.

By participating in one of the following wellness challenges, you can be entered to win a prize of your choice* and improve your physical wellness.

Submit a photo

Just take a photo that illustrates what wellness means to you and send it to knews@ketteringhealth.org by Monday, September 3. One participant will be randomly selected to win.

Improve your wellness

Choose one of the following two options below to improve your physical wellness throughout the month of August. If you have already mastered one, work on the other option. If you find that you already do both, choose the one you would most like to improve.

  1. Engineer diet: Eat at least two servings of fruits and/or vegetables each day. According to the American Heart Association, the average adult that consumes 2,000 calories per day should be consuming 4.5 cups of fruits and vegetables.
  2. Empower change: Reduce intake of added sugars. According to the American Heart Association, men have a daily added sugar limit of 9 teaspoons (150 calories) and women have a daily limit of 6 teaspoons (100 calories).
