Sycamore Glen Retirement Community has been making summer of memories. They held many fun events for their residents during May and June.
National Nursing Home Week was May 11-17 and Sycamore Glen celebrated with a series of theme days. The fun started off with a Mother’s Day “Mardi Gras” themed social. The rest of the week included Sports Day, Island Day, Western Day, Emerald City Day, and Red, White, and Blue day.
Sycamore Glen employees, as well as some residents and the family members who visited, dressed up. Residents and family members enjoyed games, entertainment, and food activities that corresponded with each theme day. It was a great week for everyone to have fun and act silly with the residents.
Sycamore Glen also held their first annual Father’s Day event in June featuring a car show and a large train exhibit. Many residents and their families brought cars and enjoyed the outdoors with food and oldies music. This event was open to the public and a very large success.
