Teams Forming for 2015 Mission Trips

Have you ever felt a calling to help others around the world?

mission trips (3)Each year Kettering Health Network employees, physicians, and other affiliates volunteer to travel across the globe to bring physical and spiritual healing. Teams perform surgeries, dental care, eye care, and personal health education to villages that do not have access to health care.

TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO
Kettering College’s Service Learning Honors Program is taking a trip to provide medical education and health fair experience. Additional volunteers, both clinical and non-clinical are needed with a special need for a sonographer and eye doctor. Contact Clive Wilson at clive.wilson@kc.edu.

PARAGUAY
Steven Schmidt, MD, plastic surgeon from Kettering and Sycamore, is once again heading out on a mission trip through Legacy of Healing. He’s looking for many different healthcare providers, specifically those with experience in internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, anesthesia, and hand and plastic surgery. PAPUA NEW GUINEA
Robert Arrom, MD, OB/GYN, from Fort Hamilton is putting together a team to work at Kudjip Nazarene Hospital in Papua New Guinea. He’s in need of healthcare providers, including nurses, respiratory therapists, and physicians. Contact Dr. Arrom at robertarrom@aol.com.

BELIZE
Kettering College’s Health Sciences Division will take a mission trip to Belize. Anyone is welcome to join them, though there is a specific need for family practice and pediatric healthcare providers. Contact Paula Reams, the chair of Health Sciences, at paula.reams@kc.edu.

ALBANIA
Allegheny West Conference is hosting a medical mission trip to Albania. They are in need of nurses and nurse assistants. Contact Sergio Romero at  sergioxer@msn.com.

HONDURAS
A team is forming for a trip to Adventist Health International/Hospital Adventista Valle de Angeles, which is located in the mountains 30 minutes outside the capital, Tegucigalpa. Both non-clinical and clinical volunteers are needed to help conduct medical clinics at various villages. Email Benjamin.Carpenter@khnetwork.org.

KENYA
Both clinical and non-clinical volunteers are needed to help conduct medical clinics in various villages in Kenya, Africa. Email lauren.keller@khnetwork.org.

INDIA
