Meet Vimbai Mazani, manager of Business Development for Southview Medical Center and Middletown Health Center. Vimbai is Zimbabwean-American and was born in Zimbabwe and grew up in southwest Michigan. She joined the network as a Human Resources intern nearly 7 years ago. After her internship, she became a recruiter and supported many of the clinical and ancillary departments in the network. Later transitioning to the Heart and Vascular service line, she partnered with leaders and physicians on growth strategies as a physician liaison, before coming to her current role.
During her internship she worked with a supportive and fun-loving team, which drew her interest to join the team once she finished college. She continues to appreciate the organization because of the people and the commitment to providing exceptional care and service to the community. Vimbai shares that one of her greatest accomplishments at Kettering Health Network has been the relationships she has built in her time here. To this day, she enjoys running into individuals she recruited years ago, catching up with hiring leaders she recruited for, and grabbing coffee with physicians she’s supported. It’s always been a goal of hers to make people she interacts with feel like they are heard and valued as a person, and she hopes that she is able to express the value she has for them and the work they do, which is what makes this organization so wonderful.
Vimbai is continually amazed and inspired by the excellent care provided at the facilities and feels it a privilege to support providers and share the amazing work they do with people in the Miami Valley. A piece of advice she shares with us is, “don’t be afraid ask questions. You would be surprised how many people are willing to share their advice, time-saving methods, and life experiences if you would only ask.”
