Years Added, Weight Lost, and Money Won

The nine month Wright Patt Credit Union (WPCU) yearly savings race recently came to an end. This year’s health and financial savings edition featured five families and a health advisor from Kettering Health Network’s Community Outreach department. The advisors provided pre and post biometric screenings as well as monthly health and wellness presentations. Each advisor worked one on one with their family to achieve a healthier lifestyle.

The savings race was a huge success. On average, each individual added 4.1 years to their life expectancy. The entire group reported an overall increase in wellness and their activity levels. As a group, the individuals lost 52 pounds. The winner of the challenge received $10,000, 2nd place received $5,000, and 3rd place received $2,500.

This was a rewarding experience for both the health advisors and the families involved.
