YMCA Child Care Subsidy Continues Through June 19

Read Time: 1 min

Collaborating to support our employees in the practice of sacred work is an important part of building strong workplace culture. In March, we partnered with our local YMCA institutions to provide subsidized child care resources for our employee family following school and day care closures. The Child Care for Health Care Personnel Program was designed specifically to support those employees who are a critical part of our community response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We have continued to monitor needs for child care resources throughout this crisis and as Governor DeWine announced the Responsible RestartOhio plan. Beginning Sunday, May 31, childcare providers and day camps in Ohio will be permitted to reopen. This is great news as it reestablishes a broad network of childcare resources to support our teams.

The reopening of childcare providers and day camps eliminates the critical need to have a designated program for child care support available through Kettering Health Network. We will continue to subsidize the YMCA Child Care for Health Care Personnel Program at 50% through Friday, June 19 to support employees as they transition back to previous childcare providers and make decisions regarding available programs. Employees who wish to continue child care through the YMCA after June 19 may work directly with their local facilities regarding options and pricing.

We are grateful for the support of the Greater Dayton YMCA for working quickly and collaboratively to bring resources to our health care team at a critical time.
