YMCA Partnership Offers Childcare

Read Time: 2 mins

In response to recent school closures, Kettering Health Network is partnering with our local YMCA institutions to provide child care resources for our employee family. We are grateful for the support of the Greater Dayton YMCA for working quickly and collaboratively to bring resources to our health care team. The Child Care for Health Care Personnel Program is designed specifically to support those employees who are a critical part of our community response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

How to Enroll

Kettering Health Network employees may enroll children ages 5 – 12 to participate through any of the 10 Greater Dayton YMCA locations that offer this program. We are also working with our YMCA location in Fort Hamilton. Care for preschool aged children, toddlers, and infants may also be available. Enrollment may be completed by phone at any time during business hours. In person open enrollment is also available Wednesday, March 18 through Friday, March 20 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The attached flier lists YMCA locations that offer this program and contact information for each facility. Space is limited and registrations will be handled on a first come, first served basis.

We will be hosting additional open enrollment time on Saturday, March 21 at 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the following locations:

Huber Heights, Kleptz (Englewood), Coffman (Springboro), West Carrollton, Preble Co. (Eaton), South (Kettering), Xenia, and Fairborn.

Proof of Employment

To be eligible for the discounted program rate, Kettering Health Network employees must bring their badge to the first check-in. This may be during an in-person enrollment or the first program visit if enrollment is completed over the phone.

Program Hours

Child care is available Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. As needed, the program may be extended to 7:30 pm.

To help make this resource accessible to our employee family during this critical time, Kettering Health Network is subsidizing 50% of the cost of this program. Employee cost for this program is $82.75 per week, $17.50 per day, or $2 per hour (please note that this is different from the total program cost listed on the flier).  State legislative changes may provide additional cost coverage, and the YMCA will verify eligibility at the time of enrollment. Employees who need additional support for child care costs may apply for financial aid through our Employee Assistance Fund.
