Caring Closet Project Close to Fort Hamilton’s Heart

Caring Closet Project Close to Fort Hamilton’s Heart

Cris Crowthers and Bonnie Baker sort clothing donations.

Employees at Fort Hamilton and elsewhere in Kettering Health Network rallied together this holiday season to donate to a Hamilton County charity, the Caring Closet.

Founded by Fort Hamilton employee health nurse Cris Crowthers, the Caring Closet provides clothing and toiletries to Hamilton City School children. Referrals are sent to the non-profit organization by  teachers who recognize that clothing is needed.

Cris recently decided to also accept donations of adult clothing that can be given to our patients when the need arises. The donated clothing provides something for patients to wear home instead of a hospital gown.

If you have gently used  adult or children’s clothing to donate, please bring them to Human Resources. Clothing for patients can be obtained by calling the patient services representatives.  Providing clothing for those in need is part of our sacred work and embodies the spirit of giving embraced by our employees.
