One day, Soin’s Intensive Care Unit had a very ill patient who needed transferred to another facility. The patient was very uncomfortable and resistant of going to the other facility in an ambulance. Linda had already established rapport and trust with her and agreed to accompany the patient in the ambulance to another hospital. The patient held Chaplain Linda’s hand the entire trip, and the transport went smoothly.
This patient was much calmer, entered the hospital and her new unit, met the new staff, and settled in to get well. Afterwards, Linda returned to Soin to help other patients. Chaplain Linda Farley truly went beyond the call of duty.
