Further Clarification of PPE to Use for Cardiac Arrest in the Hospital Setting

Healthcare workers should be wearing masks at all times while at work unless eating, drinking, or alone in a private space. In the event of a cardiopulmonary resuscitation, you should start basic life support measures (calling Code Blue, placing back board, and initiating chest compressions) first while wearing your mask. The Code Blue Team will arrive with appropriate PPE for you to don when you are relieved of chest compressions by a team member.

Please follow the cardiac arrest guidelines for personal protective equipment required during intubation.
