Congratulations to Heidi Lambert, who was named Kettering Behavioral Medicine Center’s August Employee of the Month! Heidi works in Food Services at the hospital.
The Employee of the Month Award recognizes the people you love to work with. These winners show exceptional performance as defined by the network’s Standards of Behavior, live out the network’s values, and demonstrate the healing presence practices outlined in Called to Care. Heidi was nominated by two fellow employees, and you can read the nomination stories below:
“I thought I lost my keys at Kettering Behavioral Medicine Center in the dining room. This is a huge risk as our units are locked for the safety of our patients. I was kind of freaking out as not only could it cause a risk to patients and staff, but at Kettering Behavioral Medicine Center we can’t even use the restroom without keys. Heidi didn’t even think twice before she gloved up and went straight for the trash cans after a unit full of teenagers had just left, and she started digging out every single thing in there. Did I mention it was meatloaf day? Towards the bottom of the trash, can you imagine what meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans, and milk looks like? Um, gross! But the trooper Heidi was, she didn’t let that stop her. She was on a mission to find the misplaced keys. They ended up not being in there. I headed over to the kids unit with security to give them a heads up. As I’m talking to the nurse, I put my hands in my pants pocket and found my keys! I went back to let Heidi know they had been found and apologize, and all she could do was laugh. What a trooper Heidi was. I’m not sure I would be laughing after I dug in other people’s trash when all along the keys were in a pocket. She was my shining star!”
“Heidi is always willing to go the extra mile to assure customer (both staff and patient) satisfaction! She believes in doing her job well. She’s trustworthy, reliable, and a self-starter.”
