Congratulations to Joshua Welz, who was named Soin Medical Center’s June Employee of the Month! Josh works in the cafeteria at the hospital.
The Employee of the Month Award recognizes the people you love to work with. These winners show exceptional performance as defined by the network’s Standards of Behavior, live out the network’s values, and demonstrate the healing presence practices outlined in Called to Care. Joshua was nominated by a fellow employee, and you can read the nomination story below:
“Josh always has a smile on his face. He makes every customer feel special. I have seen him restart the grill or throw in one last batch of fries for a hungry guest on more than one occasion! Yet, Josh is more than that to Soin. He takes collaboration to another level and is always willing to help. When the lab had an extended back order on the pediatric tubes used to test for neonatal Bilirubin, our substitute tube was a clear container. Because Bilirubin breaks down when it comes into the light, nurses had to wrap the tubes in paper towels and do whatever they could to protect the sample from the light. Josh saved us by providing the remaining portion of aluminum foil in his box. This was enough for us to send to the floor so that they could wrap the tubes and protect them from light so that we could accurately test our newborn babies. Thank you, Josh!”
