Congratulations to Kimberly Atchison, who was named Soin Medical Center’s June Employee of the Month! Charles works in Wound, Skin, and Ostomy at the hospital.
The Employee of the Month Award recognizes the people you love to work with. These winners show exceptional performance as defined by the network’s Standards of Behavior, live out the network’s values, and demonstrate the healing presence practices outlined in Called to Care. Kimberly was nominated by a fellow employee, and you can read the nomination story below:
“Kimberly has gone above and beyond to help a patient with meeting her wound care needs multiple times. As a social worker, my role is to coordinate care for patients who are in need of skilled nursing care. One patient in particular had a difficult situation, and Kimberly agreed to help train the Heartland of Centerville’s staff at the hospital while caring for the patient. A nurse from Heartland observed Kimberly changing the patient’s wound dressing and was able to go back and train additional staff on how to care for that patient. The patient’s wound healed well as a result.
Kimberly went above and beyond the call of duty again and trained the staff at Heartland of Beavercreek. The staff there communicated with me on how helpful it was for her to do this and more importantly, it meant so much to the patient and their family. Kimberly’s work allowed the patient to avoid readmission to the hospital.
Kimberly collaborates and communicates effortlessly with discharge planning to ensure that the patient’s care and health are priorities. I am so glad she is a part of our Clinical Quality team.”
