Spring Clean Your Department and Donate Supplies for Mission Trips

The network’s Missions and Development Department is looking for donated medical supplies and equipment to send on overseas mission trips.

The network facilitates the storage of medical mission supplies, serving as a home to discarded items that can no longer be used in the hospital setting here in the United States. Whether it is because the box has been opened on a package of bandages or medical beds have been deemed outdated, these are all items that we are unable to use here due to regulations. However, they can make a difference in the lives of those living in underserved communities around the world.

If you’re interested in supporting the Missions Department, please work with your leader to determine what items you may be able to donate. Once you and your leader have come up with a list, please contact Courtney Haas at missions@ketteringhealth.org to see if your items can be used on a mission trip.

We do need:

  • Boxes of sutures
  • Gloves of assorted sizes
  • Sterile surgical towels
  • Alcohol preps
  • Surgical blades
  • Surgical scissors
  • Surgical instruments (any)
  • Bandages
  • Dressings
  • Hemostats
  • Sponges
  • Gauze
  • Needles still in packaging
  • Syringes
  • Drapes
  • Gowns
  • Masks
  • Scrubs (sizes small, medium, and large)
  • Hospital beds
  • Electrical equipment that may be outdated but still works and has all cords

We do not need:

  • Office supplies
  • Office furniture
  • Infant formula
  • Nutrition drinks
  • Loose needles
  • Loose sutures
  • Electrical equipment that is without cords or non-functioning
  • Scrubs in poor condition or sizes bigger than extra large
