Direct COVID Outpatient Treatment (Paxlovid and Molnupiravir) Ordering Available

Due to increasing COVID Outpatient Treatment Referral volume, the Network has developed order entries that will allow providers to send e-scripts for Paxlovid and Molnupiravir directly to pharmacies, starting today 7/28/2022. 

The COVID Outpatient Treatment Referral service is still available and strongly encouraged for patients with a complex medication list or past medical history (e.g. arrhythmia, epilepsy, psychiatric disorder, need for anticoagulation). Please review the attached document to familiarize yourself with the process prior to ordering.

  1. Day of symptom onset 
  2. Liver function 
  3. Drug-drug interactions 
    1. Please review process document for important details on evaluation of interactions 
  4. Renal function  
    1. See attached document for information on dose adjustments and contraindications  
  5. Inventory 
    1. Not all community pharmacies carry Paxlovid and Referral Team is reporting complete stock-outs at numerous local pharmacies
