Cancer Center’s Boulevard Bistro Recognized by Food Management

Food Management, an online website that features trends and best practices for noncommercial foodservice, featured Kettering Cancer Center’s Boulevard Bistro in an article.

The article highlights how the cafe is on the cutting-edge of nutrition within the healthcare setting. It also points out how it was designed with input from the Patient Advisory Council: “The council wanted the café to be a source for antioxidant-rich, high-protein foods. They also wanted big flavor.”

Cheryl Shimmin, network director of culinary and nutrition care, was quoted saying the nutrition department sought the advice of staff oncology dietitians to help find “foods and ingredients which play a role in preventing and treating cancer.”
